So I have mentioned before (multiple times) that I am just not a daily devotional type of gal. Call it a lack of discipline or motivation, or maybe I’m ADD after-all, but I just get bored with them. The exception to this rule so far, is the Beautiful Word Devotional. I am not great at reading it every day, but I pick it up 3-4 times per week and read the day’s assigned page; and I’ve been doing this for about 3 months straight…which is a new personal record for me.
However, when I have a spare moment each day, you’ll find me with my nose buried in my Bible. So when I saw 100 Favorite Bible Verses, I said to myself, “Stace, that there is a devotional pretending to be a study book. That might be something you can stick with.” (Hey, talking to oneself is a sign of intelligence, in case you didn’t know.)
Oh my squeal, look at that cover. Right?! It’s so beautiful! (And we all know that Stacie has a thing about covers.) I am loving this book! It’s small enough to fit into my purse…about the size of an eReader, I’d say. But beefy enough to be comfortably weighty. And inside is just as lovely as the cover. Each two page spread has a devotion on the left side, and a Bible verse on the right side. Each page has a gorgeous floral theme to it. In the back of the book, there are some lined pages for you to jot down your own favorite Bible verses, too. My only complaint, if you can even call it that, is that there isn’t a bookmark. I love when books like this come with a ribbon marker.
Bottom Line: I am so in love with this book, and feeling really hopeful that it becomes an important part of my daily routine.
